【English Translation】 Collected Teachings of Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD230: 'A Swift Invocation of Blessings for Dorje Zangpo' 'A Swift Invocation of Blessings for Dorje Zangpo' Homage to the glorious Lama. Here is a brief method for invoking the Lama: First, take refuge: The source from which all perfections arise, I take refuge in the precious Three Jewels. In order to establish all beings, as vast as space, in supreme enlightenment, I will meditate on the profound path of Lama Yoga. (Recite three times) In the sky before me, within a mass of rainbow light, upon a lion throne, lotus, moon, and Rahu (referring to solar and lunar eclipses) stacked on top of each other, is the lord of the wheel, the collective glory of all lineages, the all-pervading Jetsun Ngawang Dorje Zangpo. His unchanging, great bliss body is white in color. His two hands, uniting method and wisdom, make the gesture of teaching the Dharma. He has mastered the three trainings and wears the three robes of Dharma. He possesses great power and his head is adorned with a lotus hat. He subdues the extremes of samsara and nirvana, and his two feet are in the vajra posture. Hundreds of aspects of stainless samadhi blaze forth. A wondrous mass of light radiates hundreds of thousands of rays. His loving face smiles with a white smile. Throughout the expanse of space, he manifests limitless emanations. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas appear in immeasurable arrangements. At the four places of that one are marked with four syllables. He is the embodiment of the refuge. Then: To the Lama, the embodiment of the four kayas, I pay homage with reverence. I offer my body and all my possessions as offerings. I confess all the misdeeds I have accumulated since beginningless time. I rejoice in the virtue of all beings, both ordinary and noble. I request the turning of the vast and profound Dharma. Never to pass away, he displays the splendor of the Rupakaya. May the virtue represented by these suppress the position of the Lama! The unchanging, supreme, stainless Vajra body, complete with all qualities, the illusory deity of emptiness and form, having manifested the state of union, to the glorious Lama, I pray. Other than you, protector, I have no other refuge to rely on. Now, with unwavering compassion, may you bless me to merge my mind with the Lama's mind, indivisibly. This is a prayer to the actual Vajradhara, the holy Lama Ngawang Dorje Zangpo, called 'Quickly Invoking the Blessings of the Lama,' written by the mediocre Mati Kirti at the irreversible request of the supreme Dharma friend Palsang.
