【English Translation】 《Entering the Way of the Bodhisattva - Dedication Chapter》 Collected Teachings of Master Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD162 《Entering the Way of the Bodhisattva - Dedication Chapter》 《Entering the Way of the Bodhisattva》 Dedication Chapter Hereby dedicated. Through the merit of composing this treatise on the conduct of a Bodhisattva, May all sentient beings enter the conduct of a Bodhisattva. In all directions, as many beings as there are with suffering bodies and minds, through my merit, may they attain an ocean of joy and happiness. As long as they are in samsara, may they never be separated from happiness, may beings attain the continuous happiness of a Bodhisattva. In all the realms of the world, as many hells as there are, may the beings in those places rejoice in happiness and bliss. May those afflicted by cold find warmth, from the great clouds of Bodhisattvas, may the endless streams of water that arise cool those afflicted by heat. May the forests of sword leaves become delightful pleasure groves, may the trees of Shalmali grow into wish-fulfilling trees. May the places be adorned with the beautiful sounds of blue-necked birds, swans, geese, and other melodious voices. May the hellish realms be made pleasant by lakes filled with fragrant lotuses. May the piles of coal become piles of jewels, may the scorched earth be laid with crystal ground. May the mountains of crushing and destroying become immeasurable palaces of offering, filled with Sugatas (Buddhas). From this day forward, may the rain of weapons, burning stones, and armaments turn into a rain of flowers. May those who strike each other with weapons from now on throw flowers for love. May those who are drowning in rivers of fire without measure, with flesh consumed and bones as white as Kunda flowers, through the power of my virtue, obtain the bodies of gods, and dwell leisurely with goddesses. Why are the terrifying messengers of Yama, crows, and vultures frightening beings here? This is the excellent power that dispels all darkness and generates joy and happiness, whose power is it? Looking upwards, seeing Vajrapani (藏文：ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ།，梵文天城體：वज्रपाणि，梵文羅馬擬音：Vajrapāṇi，漢語字面意思：持金剛者) blazing in the center of the sky, may they be freed from sin by the force of great joy, and go together with him. 【English Translation】 Friends, cast aside your fears and quickly come to the presence of Guru Rinpoche! Through his power, may we be separated from all suffering and attain the strength of joy! May the Bodhisattva of compassion arise, completely protecting all beings! Who is that youthful one with a topknot, blazing and fearless? May your crown of a hundred deities be offered to the lotus at your feet. With eyes moistened by compassion, may a rain of countless flowers fall upon your head. Behold this enchanting palace, where thousands of goddesses sing praises! Having seen such a Jamuyang, may the minds of hell beings cry out! May I, with this merit, and Kuntuzangpo and others, Bodhisattvas without clouds, bring happiness and Cool, fragrant, and sweet-smelling rain, upon seeing this. May those hell beings feel immense joy! May animals be free from the fear of devouring each other! May they not be like people with unpleasant voices, may pretas find happiness! May the stream of milk flowing from the hands of the Noble Chenrezig, satiate the pretas, bathe them, and may they be forever cool! May the blind see, may the deaf always hear! Like the magic of a goddess, may pregnant women also give birth safely! May the naked obtain clothing, the hungry obtain food, the thirsty obtain water, and delicious drinks! May the impoverished obtain wealth! May the sorrowful and afflicted obtain joy! May the disheartened regain hope, and obtain perfect stability! May all sick beings, quickly be freed from illness! May the illnesses of all beings, never occur again! May the frightened become fearless! May the bound be liberated! May the powerless gain power, and may their minds become gentle towards each other! May all travelers, be safe in all directions! For whose purpose they act, may it be accomplished without effort! May those who travel by boats and great ships, have their wishes fulfilled, arrive safely on the shore, and rejoice with their loved ones! May those who wander on sorrowful paths, meet with travelers, be without fear of robbers, tigers, etc., and travel easily without fatigue! In desolate wildernesses and other dangerous places, may children, the elderly, and the unprotected, the sleeping, the drunk, and the extremely intoxicated, be protected by the gods! May they be freed from all lack of leisure, and possess faith and wisdom!

【English Translation】 May they have great love and abundant food and enjoyment. May they always remember their past lives, like a treasury of space. May their enjoyment be inexhaustible, without strife or harm. May they freely enjoy themselves. May beings with small glory Attain great glory. May those ascetics with ugly forms Attain perfectly beautiful forms. May all the women in the world Become men. May the inferior attain high positions, And may pride be subdued. By this merit of mine, May all sentient beings, without exception, Abandon all sins and always do good. May they never be separated from the mind of enlightenment, and may they be devoted to the conduct of enlightenment. May they be cared for by the Buddhas, and may they abandon the works of the maras. May all those sentient beings have immeasurably long lives. May they always live happily, and may the sound of death never be heard. May the groves of wish-fulfilling trees be filled with Buddhas and the children of Buddhas. May all directions be filled with the proclamation of pleasing Dharma. Everywhere, may the ground be free of gravel and all impurities. May it be as level as the palm of the hand, and may it be of the nature of smooth lapis lazuli. In all the circles of the retinue, may many Bodhisattvas Adorn the surface of the earth with their own goodness and remain there. May all embodied beings constantly hear the sound of Dharma from the birds, The trees, all the rays of light, and even the sky. May they always meet with the Buddhas and the children of the Buddhas. May the limitless clouds of offerings make offerings to the protectors of beings. May the gods also send down rain in due season, and may the crops be abundant. May kings act according to Dharma, and may the world prosper. May medicines be endowed with power, and may the recitation of secret mantras be accomplished. May the dakinis, rakshasas, and so forth be endowed with compassionate hearts. May no sentient being suffer, and may no one commit sins. May no one be frightened or despised, and may no one be unhappy. May the monasteries flourish with reading and recitation, and may they be well established. May the Sangha always be harmonious, and may the purposes of the Sangha be accomplished. May monks who wish to study also attain secluded places. Having abandoned all distractions, may their minds be tamed and meditate. May nuns be wealthy and free from strife and contention.

【English Translation】 May I be able to abandon craving! May all those who have renounced, maintain their vows purely! May aversion arise from breaking vows, and thus constantly exhaust sins! May I attain happy migrations, and not abandon asceticism even there! May I respect the wise and obtain offerings! May my mind-stream be completely purified, and my reputation spread in all directions! May I not experience the suffering of evil destinies, nor have to practice austerities, and with a body superior to the gods, quickly attain Buddhahood! May all sentient beings repeatedly make offerings to all the Buddhas, and constantly possess the immeasurable bliss of the Buddhas! May Bodhisattvas accomplish the benefit of beings they have in mind! May whatever the Protector (Avalokiteśvara) intends, also reach all sentient beings! Likewise, may all Pratyekabuddhas and Shravakas be happy! May I also, through the kindness of Manjushri, until I attain the Joyful Ground, constantly remember my past lives and be able to renounce! May I be able to live on coarse food and possess the ability to practice! May I obtain a solitary dwelling in all lifetimes, complete with all favorable conditions! Whenever I wish to see or ask something, may I see the Protector Manjushri without any obstacles! In order to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings throughout the ten directions reaching the limits of space, may my conduct be like that of Manjushri! As long as space exists, and as long as beings exist, may I also exist, in order to dispel the suffering of beings! Whatever suffering there is for beings, may it ripen upon me! May the Bodhisattva Sangha enable beings to enjoy happiness! May this single cure for the suffering of beings, the source of all happiness, the Dharma, along with gain and respect, abide for a long time! To whom I pay homage, from whose kindness virtuous thoughts arise, is Manjushri! To whom I also pay homage, from whose kindness I have grown, is the virtuous spiritual friend! This concludes the tenth chapter, Dedication, of the Bodhisattva's Way of Life.
