【English Translation】 Collection of Teachings by Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD15: A Prayer for the Profound Path of the Two Stages, Called 'Especially Excellent' A Prayer for the Profound Path of the Two Stages, Called 'Especially Excellent' Homage to the Guru and Kalachakra! May the generation stage be well established, the power of mantra be perfected, and the twelve activities of pacification and so forth be accomplished without hindrance. May I obtain the initiation of the sword-touching nectar, the nectar fruit pills, Rahula and eye medicine, and the eight great siddhas of swift feet. May the ultimate abode of Akanishta, the supreme worldly siddhi, and all perfections be accomplished without effort. Not being content with just that, possessing the four independences, endowed with the three confidences, may I meditate on the profound path of the completion stage. May the vajra of the heart be placed in the sky, cutting off the clinging to subject and object, and may I meditate on the distinct gathering of the manifest emptiness. May I constantly meditate on the stable emptiness-form of wisdom, understanding, discernment, joy, and unwavering bliss, and may the limbs of samadhi be manifested. The two movements of the sun and moon on the right and left cease and enter the central channel, victorious over untimely death, may the limb of life-force exertion be manifested. In the places of the navel, heart, throat, and forehead, the bindus, may the life-force be held without moving in and out, may the limb of holding be manifested. Through the blazing fire of fierce wisdom, seeing the desire deity, free from form and thought, light radiating, emanating the three realms from form, may the limb of recollection be manifested. By recollecting and clinging to the desire deity, the indivisible knowledge and knowable, the unwavering, single-pointed bliss, may the limb of samadhi be manifested. The four elements gradually dissolve into emptiness, emptiness transforms into ten signs, the signs possess all forms, may the form also become unwavering bliss. From the wisdom of unwavering bliss, may the siddhis of flying in the sky and so forth, and the supreme siddhi of power over the three realms, be accomplished in this very life. Having trained in the path with the three yogas, purifying the obscurations of body, speech, and mind, perfecting the three conducts, may the three vajras be manifested. Having trained in the four limbs of approach and accomplishment, relying on the vows of the four vajras, exhausting the delusions of the four states, may the four kayas be manifested.

【English Translation】 May I attain! May I perfectly traverse the complete five paths, and may the five wisdoms gradually become manifest. May the obscurations of the five aggregates be purified, and may I attain the five wisdoms! May I diligently train in the six yogic limbs, and may I rely on the vows and commitments of the six families. Through freedom from the obscurations of the six elements, may the six families become manifest, indivisible! May I traverse the ten stages of yoga, and may I train in the ten pāramitās (perfections). May the ten powers and ten strengths become manifest, and may the ten aspects of outer and inner be purified! May the twelve transmutations cease to flow, and may the twelve limbs of dependent origination be exhausted. May the twelve, beginning with Joyful, be traversed in this very life! Having the twelve aspects of truth, may I understand the sixteen aspects of thatness. May I quickly attain complete qualities and Buddhahood in this very life! Even if I do not attain enlightenment in this life due to my past deeds, May I attain it immediately through the compassion of the Victorious Ones and their heirs! At the time of death, may I be greeted by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Heroes, and assemblies of yoginīs, with various offerings, And may they lead me to the realm of space! Immediately upon that, may I attain samādhi (meditative absorption), Abandon all obscurations, perfect all qualities, and complete all the bhūmis (grounds), attaining Buddhahood, May I attain it in that instant! In any case, within seven lifetimes, May I undoubtedly attain the state of Vajradhara (Diamond Holder), And may I not be transformed into anything else! In all my lifetimes, May I be intelligent, of noble lineage, without arrogance, Respectful to the guru, cherishing him in my heart, Abiding by the vows of Kālacakra (Wheel of Time), Always holding the vajra (diamond scepter) and bell, Reciting the profound and vast Dharma, Relying on the four commitments, May I meditate on the profound paths of the two stages! From now until the essence of enlightenment, May I inseparably and properly accomplish the wondrous Vajrayāna (Diamond Vehicle) of the guru Kālacakra (Wheel of Time)! May there be no obstacles to my practice, and from now until seven lifetimes, May the dust of the feet of the glorious guru Kālacakra (Wheel of Time) reside on the crown of my head! Whenever I wish to look upon the protector and ask him something, May I see the Bhagavan (Blessed One) Kālacakra (Wheel of Time) without any hindrance! For the sake of all sentient beings pervading the ends of the ten directions, Just as the Sage King acted, May my actions also be like that! May my body, possessions, and all the merit of the three times, Ripen for all sentient beings, and may they be happy in the short and long term! May all the non-virtuous actions of sentient beings, Which have become the cause of the ocean of suffering, Ripen upon me, and may sentient beings be freed from suffering!

Whatever is done with the three doors (body, speech, and mind), May it benefit others. Like a good vase, a wish-fulfilling tree, Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, The desires of sentient beings, May all of them arise in me. If it benefits others, Without regard for one's own benefit, Even the suffering of the three lower realms, May I endure it for the sake of others. Through the power of unbearable karma, If born in a place without leisure, Tormented by the disease of afflictions, May I bestow the nectar of Dharma. The Lama (上師), the Three Jewels, Especially glorious Kalachakra (時輪金剛), Those who lack faith and merit, Those who are impoverished of Dharma, Through all my various methods, May I lead them well to the Lama, The Three Jewels, and Kalachakra, Having faith, may they be placed on the path. Through the blessings of the Lama with deities, And the power of meditating on the profound path of the two stages, Having obtained the two types of siddhi (成就), May I have the power to ripen sentient beings. At the time of my death, May I be without suffering and regret, May my faculties be clear, And may I pass away from within Samadhi (三摩地). May the assembly of heroes and yoginis, Holding flowers, banners, and umbrellas, Offering music, lutes, and songs, Lead me to the Khechara (空行凈土) realm. Having certainly obtained the supreme, unchanging, Blissful Samadhi, Through increasing the count of the breath of the pervader, May I travel to the realms and nearby places. 【English Translation】 Supreme pure land of Ngak, extraordinary lineage abode, Dharma King lineage holder, Yeshe Lhatsok (wisdom deity assembly), and ninety-six emanation kings, etc., to all worthy of offering, I prostrate and take refuge. This is also Dolpopa's aspiration in the praise of Shambhala's field arrangement. ༈ The regent of the Victorious Ones, the Victorious Jonangpa, the Lord of Dharma, the Omniscient Lord of Dharma, the precious teachings, the supreme essence of the teachings, may it blaze long in all directions and times! By the power of the infallible truth, the precious Three Jewels, the naturally pure, unchanging Dharmadhatu, may the teachings of the Second Buddha, the Omniscient Jonangpa, blaze long in all directions! By the power of the Buddhas accumulating vast and wonderful merits and wisdom for countless eons, may the teachings of the Second Buddha, the Omniscient Jonangpa, blaze long in all directions! By the power of the Three Times Victorious Ones perfectly proclaiming the three wheels of Dharma until the end of samsara, may the teachings of the Second Buddha, the Omniscient Jonangpa, blaze long in all directions! All conventional dharmas are based on the emptiness from the beginning, the Trikaya (three bodies of Buddha) are fully manifested like the sun, the Jonangpa tradition has been present since the beginning, may this tradition flourish in all directions and times! Without leaving out any aspect of the three knowledges, sealed with the great Shentong (emptiness of other) view, the Jonangpa tradition is the path to the supreme vehicle, may this path flourish in all directions and times! When the darkness of ignorance is uprooted, the Buddha with the ten powers, who has been present from the beginning, is manifested, this is the Jonangpa tradition, may this tradition flourish in all directions and times! The master of the teachings, the lotus garden of the Jonangpa teachings, spreads all over the earth, the three aspects of hearing, thinking, and meditating, the three aspects of explaining, debating, and writing, may its light shine brightly for a long time! Those who uphold the teachings, the tradition of Shentong Madhyamaka (emptiness of other Middle Way), with the scriptures and reasoning that perfectly distinguish it, may the light of supreme intelligence greatly expand, may this tradition spread in all directions and times! May all unfavorable conditions be completely pacified, may favorable conditions and goodness increase like the waxing moon, may the Jonangpa teachings flourish, filling the three realms with hundreds of auspicious signs! 【English Translation】 May the great vehicle (Mahayana) flourish! Among all the wise and accomplished ones of the snowy land (Tibet), Like the full moon amidst the stars, may he be supreme. May the teachings of the second Buddha, the omniscient Jonangpa (Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen, 1292-1361), Forever blaze in all directions! Perfectly distinguishing the meaning of the three turnings of the wheel of Dharma (the Buddha's three major teachings), May the wondrous teachings of the glorious Jonangpa spread throughout the earth. May they flourish and increase in all directions! This prayer for the flourishing of the noble Jonangpa teachings was composed at the request of Se Moktrul Rinpoche of Ngawa, Who instructed me to write a prayer for the flourishing of our great Jonangpa teachings, By Thubten Gelek Gyatso. From the thousand lamps of the Fortunate Aeon (referring to the thousand Buddhas of this aeon), Whose aspiration is as sublime as a white lotus, May the teachings of the protector Shakya King (Shakyamuni Buddha), Forever blaze! The ultimate lion's roar of the three vehicles (Hinayana, Mahayana, Vajrayana), Of the definitive (ultimate truth) final turning of the wheel (the Third Turning), The sutras and their commentaries, May all these teachings forever blaze! The invincible lord of the ten bhumis (Maitreya Bodhisattva), The great vehicle (Mahayana) Asanga brothers (Asanga and Vasubandhu), And the omniscient peaceful one (Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen) of the degenerate age, Who explained the meaning (of the Buddha's teachings) as it is. In this land of snowy mountains, Illuminated by the great kindness of the impartial and powerful one-eyed one of the world (referring to a protector deity), May this teaching forever blaze! The great renunciate of noble lineage (Kunga Drolchok), Victorious Yeshe Jungne, Whose qualities are like an ocean, a treasure of Dharma. Especially prophesied by the Victorious One (Buddha), The great omniscient one, the Sugata (Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen). Lord of the complete ocean of teachings, The great vehicle (Mahayana) of definitive Madhyamaka. The lineage holders, the wise and accomplished sangha, Of the Jonangpa Dharma King. The countless common and special, Vajrapani, the protector of Tara, May their teachings forever blaze! The definitive, irreversible words, The doctrine of the radiant Tathagatagarbha (Buddha-nature), May the teachings that perfectly reveal these forever blaze! The king of tantras that destroys the fear of death (Kalachakra), Outer, inner, other, and suchness (the four Kalachakras), The six branches of Yuganaddha (union) yoga, May this teaching forever blaze! In the teachings of the Shakya Lion, The essential meaning of the sutras is Shentong Madhyamaka (Emptiness of Other), The essential meaning of the tantras is Vajra Yoga, There is no other ultimate Dharma beyond these. Those who have the good fortune, To have unwavering faith in this, and who are able to Show it to others after realizing it, May such holy beings pervade the earth, May this teaching forever blaze! This prayer expresses unwavering devotion to the Jonangpa Dharma King and his sons, composed by the omniscient Situ (Situ Rinpoche).
