Though realizing the selflessness of all phenomena, You cherish others more than yourself; Though loving all beings like a mother loves her child, You see that beings are primordially unborn; Though knowing all aspects of knowledge, You see that there is no object to be known; Though far beyond happiness and other feelings, You are victorious in the unchanging nature of bliss. I, the Dharma-speaking monk Donyo Gyaltsen, Consider the teachings as the root of precious jewels, Contributing to the teachings of countless Buddhas, Residing in the center of the ocean of eloquent explanations, Mastering the pure jewels of discipline, concentration, and wisdom, Possessing the majestic stance of a serpent king with the intellect born from hearing, contemplation, and meditation, Proclaiming the resounding voice of numerous Sugata's scriptures, Perfectly knowing all aspects of knowledge, Exalted by the glory of numerous virtues praised by the holy ones, Presented to Lama Sherab Gyaltsen. We, teacher and disciples, are harmonious and strive to the best of our ability in teaching and practice. We take the Sugata's scriptures as our witness, guarding the three trainings like our own eyes, Embracing the conduct of a Bodhisattva as described in Ornament of the Sutras and others, putting it into practice, Striving to lead many beings to the path of maturation and liberation. Having heard these things, your remembrance and encouragement to us, as well as the reasonable advice of the translator Lotsawa, greatly delight me. For the present, I hope that you will continue as before, guiding many beings to the path of liberation through the conduct of a holy person. I do not know how to entreat you, but I hope you can: Find the treasure of cherishing others more than yourself, And thus know that benefiting others is far superior to benefiting oneself. What is self-interest? What is the interest of others? With great compassion, everything is for the benefit of others. The suffering of others is like one's own pain, feeling it as one's own, Therefore, one can unhesitatingly devote oneself to the work of saving beings. And so on. I, who constantly rely on the compassionate teacher, Wish to bear the suffering of others.

【English Translation】 Suffering in the heart, focusing on the affairs of others. When urged by others, even small matters should be taken seriously. Like carrying the heavy burden of sentient beings on one's head, an excellent Bodhisattva should not walk leisurely. Being tightly bound by various self and other constraints, one should make a hundredfold effort. These words are completely integrated with your intention. We will also, as you said, strive to uphold the Buddha's teachings and benefit sentient beings to the best of our ability. May the source of benefit and happiness—the Buddha's teachings—and the Sangha of noble friends who uphold the teachings, abide as long as space exists, and may all evil enemies be forever banished. On the vast palace of the Tathagatagarbha, having erected the victory banner of wisdom, enriching it with the wealth of scriptures, may we satisfy beings with the four means of gathering. Furthermore, may each of you have a good disposition and enjoy the vast feast of Dharma. This is just a piece of cloth as a gift. Written on the twenty-eighth day of the seventh month of the Bird year at the great Dharma center, glorious Sakya, may it be auspicious!
