【English Translation】 Collected Teachings of Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD120: A Concise Arrangement of Tara's Practice A Concise Arrangement of Tara's Practice A Concise Arrangement of Tara's Practice Here, with heartfelt yearning, I call upon Tara and her retinue, who reside in the pure realms: Although I have taken countless births in samsara, I have not attained any essence. My karma is extremely negative, I am tormented by suffering, and I am shrouded in the ignorance of not knowing my own mind. In this situation, just as a child calls out to its mother, I earnestly call upon you, Holy Mother, with a hopeful heart. If you do not temporarily abandon me with your compassion, why do you not look upon me with compassion now? I earnestly beseech you to look upon me. And with words of lamentation, I call upon the Holy Mother. Now, I have no other refuge or hope than you. You know whatever good or bad befalls me. O Venerable Mother, with your exceedingly great compassion and vast power of activity, I pray that you protect me from all fears of this life and the next. With this in mind, recite the 'Ratna' invocation. Then, visualize the Venerable Tara residing in the sky before you, and generate the hope of taking refuge in her, and the mind of aspiring to attain perfect enlightenment for the sake of others. Then, purify the impure appearances of your own mind, generate pure perception, and contemplate the offerings. Then, invite all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their retinues who reside in the fields of the ten directions, and prostrate to them, make offerings, confess sins, and so forth, performing the seven-branch practice. Afterwards, mentally transform the wealth of the three thousand worlds and offer the mandala. Then, visualize yourself instantly transforming into the Holy Mother Tara, and from the （藏文 ཏཱཾ，梵文天城體：ताṃ，梵文羅馬擬音：tāṃ，漢語字面意思：seed syllable TAM）syllable at your heart, rays of light emanate, and from the naturally pure expanse, instantly invite the twenty-one goddesses Tara and their retinues, and request them to be seated before you. Make offerings to them with water for washing, flowers, and so forth, and finally offer the mandala of the wealth of the three realms. Then, recite the praise to the twenty-one Taras. Again, visualize yourself and the object to be protected as being well-placed under the right hand of the Venerable Mother, which is in the gesture of granting refuge, and make offerings and praises as before three times. Then, visualize a stream of nectar flowing from the body of the Holy Mother, filling your body, and recite the offerings and praises seven times. Then, visualize the torma in a precious vessel as being filled with uncontaminated torma.

【English Translation】 Offerings are made to the holy Tara, entrusting all desired activities, and offering praises are also performed. Then, with reverence, a general entrustment is made to the holy Tara and her retinue for the flourishing of the Dharma and the happiness of all sentient beings, and specifically, an entrustment is made for the well-being of all directions of one's own country. After that, the visualized Tara and her retinue in front are absorbed into oneself, and recitation is done while abiding in the pride of oneself as Tara. Then, confess any faults regarding the fact that the wisdom deity resides within one's own nature. Then, with oneself and the deity being non-dual, the mind is placed in its natural state, and the view is cultivated. After that, dedicate the merit, and finally, offer auspicious words that one is endowed with all the excellent qualities of Tara.
